If you are looking for finger food for your next party or get together, then these mini pepperoni non prove pizza rolls make a perfect choice. It save you the time needed to prepare the normal pizza dough.
Instead of having the normal round traditional pizza for a party, why not transform its look to pizza rolls. All the ingredients used and the taste are exactly the same, just the appearance is different. You will definitely have lots of fun making and eating it.
You may opt to have variety of fillings in the rolls. My boys' all time favourite is beef pepperoni.
Ingredients and Method of preparing the dough:
- Please refer to my previous post on Salami and Basil Non Prove Thin Crust Pizza for ingredients and method of preparing the pizza dough.
For filling (2 logs):
- Pepperoni
- 1 cup of mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 4-6 tbsp tomato paste (more if you like)
- Fresh basil leave (optional)
Methods:
- Preheat oven to 190C degree (380F degree)
- Lightly oil the baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
- Prepare the pizza dough and divide the dough into 2 portions. Just like making cinnamon roll, roll each into a large rectangle, about 30 cm x 16 cm (12" x 6"). You may use one portion now and keep another (wrap in cling film) in the refrigerator.
- Spread 2-3 tbsp of tomato paste on top of each dough rectangle leaving half inch space around the rim.
- Arrange the pepperoni in two lines.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Add more cheese if you like. I prefer to have my pepperoni pizza rolls with some fresh basil leaves. I have forgotten to sprinkle the cheese before I rolled it, so I have to unroll it and make a mess on the edges of the dough :(
- Carefully roll dough rectangles into long tight logs. Pinch seam to seal and make sure seam side down and cut each log into 8 slices or more if you prefer to have a smaller roll. Transfer the sliced rolls to the baking sheet. You may put each rolls on cupcake liners or bake them in a muffin pan.
- Bake each batch for 20-25 minutes or until the sides are lightly browned. Allow to cool on wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.
I was making half portion of the dough left over from my previous post. My pizza rolls were all gone before I have a chance to take a proper picture of them.
HAPPY BAKING AND COOKING!
