If you own a waffle maker at home, you will be surprised that there are a lot of other things you could make in it other than waffles.
One of the choices you have is to make chocolate cake mix waffles, a simple and easy recipe, especially when you are dealing with hungry children coming back from school yelling for snacks :) My boys like them because they were more 'interesting', chocolate cake in the shape of waffle.
- A box of your choice of chocolate cake mix (I used Duncan Hines)
- 3 Eggs (or as per amount required for your cake mix)
- 1 Cup of water (or as per amount required for your cake mix)
Method:
- Follow the instructions of your waffle maker on how to make waffles.
- Scoop the cake batter and pour it in the waffle maker.
- Spread the batter evenly with a heat resistant spatula.
- Close the lid. My waffle maker needs to be turned 180 degree.
- Wait for 2 minutes or until the ready light is on. Different brand or type of waffle makers will vary in cooking time. Please adjust accordingly.
- Leave to cool on a wire rack or serving with a scoop of ice cream while it is still warm.
Perfect shape !
Too little batter!
(Note: You may also use any of your favourite cake recipes)
HAPPY BAKING AND COOKING!
